This may sound kinda dumb but.... I'm investigating cams and as everyone knows as they get hotter they affect street drive ability and idle. Compcams and Crane say things like, choppy, rough, very rough idle. I hear alot of forum members talk about the cool lope sound. All I am familiar with (too familiar) is a bad idling, running missing V8. I heard that alot when I was 16!
So my question is is this the same sound? Probably not. So if anyone has any sound bites they can post It might help me understand what the cam mfg. are talking about. You should include the cam info with it if possible.
I guess describing it in words will work too, but I know for sure that it would be fun to hear some sound bites! We always see pictures so this might be something different!
Now's the time to show off!

Great idea, I've wondered the same thing . . .

This is Comp Cams XR280R solid roller, they don't mention the idle characteristics on this one but the next one down ( smaller ) they say has a rough idle
I'm somewhat ashamed to post these videos now that I look at them. lol. Alot of things are incorrect and have since been fixed. As long as you use it as a soundbite, you'll be ok!

Here's a poor quality video of my recent 454 rebuild. COMP XE268h flat tappet cam. / 8.25-1 / Lars Carb / stock exhaust / HEI. It's actually a LOT smoother since I got the timing set up correctly. Don't laugh at the body....The parts are in the garage!

This is my new 383 475hp stroker from engine factory....
It has what I would call a noticeable lope... not too agressive.
Cam is a hydraulic roller, 242/240 @ 0.050 (LSA 112*) 0.594 lift.
The extra cubes, and the 112* LSA spreads the torque across very well. Adequate torque to pull OD 5th gear from 1000 rpm without issue.
This motor really, really, sings well from 3000 to 6000 rpm
Custom tri-y 1.75" headers and twin 2.5" pipes with reverse flow mufflers.
