You gotta' be kidding... All Holley and BG carbs use the paper gaskets at the float adjuster - Holley has done it that way since the 1950s. If you know how to adjust the float, you don't tear the gaskets.

NEVER HAD A HOLLEY TEAR OUT ON THE FIRST TURN! And like I said it runs strong, its just crap compared to what I have used in the past. The paper gasket (replaced with brass anyway) isn't the problem the rest of it was. Thanks for sharing history of holley.
I have the Edl 600cfm marine on a 18' boat with a 350sb and it worked fine out of the box.
I have a Holley SA 670CFM on the vette with a 355sb and it worked ok outta the box
It ran way too lean so I bumped up both pri/sec main jets- Runs like it should now.
I like both Carbs for less than $400 carbs but prefer the holley design more-
