As in...stainless sleeves....Is this something that can be done at home? Or does it require a machine shop or press to do it?? I know I can buy them already done.
WHY would you go through the trouble to "do it yourself" when there are so many suppliers that the price is already "rock bottom"? I could do this proceedure BUT, I value my time and know what it will take to do the job correctly (you need to make some fixtures to hold the calipers in the mill and many steps to correctly size and finnish the cylinder bores after sleeve installation.)

Thanks.
I have NOT been there/anywhere to see how i'ts done, but...
from what I hear, it's similar to many places doing engine sleeving, just smaller....
freeze the sleeve with dry ice, drop it in place, let it acclimate then hone it to size....
freezing cold enough shrinks the insert, heating the caliper causes the hole to expand....
Date codes, numbers match, origional to the car etc. etc.
If this is important, I'm sure VB would do the originals for you. As a side issue, while my interest in Vettes is to keep them original, I just don't think the C3's will ever approach the C2's as far as collectability and value. I go to a lot of shows and rarely see anyone under 50. The kids don't appear to be into Vettes. Just my 2 cents.
this has come up before, but I don't recall anyone ever posting where they found the actual stainless sleeves to be inserted ..
I searched the 'net back at that time and didn't find any ....

I JUST asked.....never said I was intending to "do it myself"..I was just wondering if it was possible. Actually, I've heard the cylinders are line bored and the sleeves are inserted, then honed.
I have a system coming from VBP... and YES, they will do the sleeving of YOURS, if originality is important. I chose not to keep my originals.
