used chevy just put 76cc chamber heads on later engines to drop compression. Cranes blueprint of the 327/300hp cam

If fuel milage is your biggest concern just stay with the cam you have,
if you want a mild up grade in cam consider cams with figures
something like these two.

I'm guessing your 80 L/48 has 270s/3.08 rear gears, the first cam matches
the very low comp. of an L/48 better, may have the better
rpm cruise range for your gearing.
