I´m planning to order a VBP 360 fiber spring. Anybody out there that has recently purcased and installed that VBP 360 spring and could verify how it sits in your car
I´m worried about the ride height possibly going too high with that 360 fiber spring compared to my existing custom arched 7-leaf iron. I have seen horror stories in corvetteforum especially relater to TRW springs where the spring just is having so big arch that even with 10" bolts the car is high as sky. And using 10" bolts is a safety issue with tire clearance and also illegal in my country due to too little distance between ground and end of the bolt.
My current setup is: the rear of the car weights 1610lb without the driver. 255/50/17 tires that are 27" high. Allmost brand new 7-leaf iron spring rearched about 1" flatter than it was delivered from factory. That gives me 28" from ground to fender, 4" from the bottom of the bolt to ground, 1,8" between fender and tire, 5,5" from ground to either end of the spring and 7" from ground to center of the spring so the arch is 1,5" under my cars full load sitting on the spring (its was 2.5" before I rearched the spring). And i´m using 9" long bolts and the nut is as low as possible.
So the question in short: how much arch in the spring do you have with the 360 spring installed?
I run a VB&P 360 composite spring with 8" bolts. The fender lip is 28" off the ground, and the tires are P 295 50's which are 26.7 " tall. No height issues or tire interferance at all.

That sounds exellent and rather similar to my current setup...even with your 8" bolts (vs. I have 9"). Have you looked at the spring, how much would you questimate it has arch in it now under your cars normal load?

ditto. same spring, same ride height. But my 81 already had a f/g spring, so it was a swapping of similar technology.
I really haven't looked at the spring arch, but my half shafts are parallel to the ground with this setup. I romp on her fairly hard, and squatting is not a problem. I took two 700r4 trannies out in a year just to give you an idea of the torque the 406 dishes out. (Now running a th400 full manual reverse VB with a 3000 stall.)

My website has some pics on the Suspension page.
If you care to look at the arch I really would appreciate if you can post the result!
Yes I already looked your site and looks beautufull. The car only was on jacks so I could not either estimate the arch
My half shaft are not totally parallel they are a bit higher at the tire end but not much...
