I've read several threads that refer to the Birdcage. Can someone tell me what or where this is located on the front of the car.
Steel reinforcement that surrounds the entire passenger compartment.
Windshield frame, hinge pillars, striker pillars, rockers, halo for coupes ....
all part of the integral "birdcage" that we drive around in.
I finally google corvette and birdcage and got the picture that was posted... I am glad I wasn't the only person in the world that didn't know. I feel much better now.

this picture is actually from a C2 coupe birdcage but they are similar enough for you to understand what the birdcage actually is.
also, no, it's not strong enough to act as a rollcage for protection in case of a rollover, it's just structual for the t-tops and overall stiffening and support of the body.
