Stay with the mechanical. A good one will feed a 600+ HP motor. Upgrade to a good mechanical pump and it will last for years and be lighter on your wallet also. I have a Holley pump on mine and it feeds mine with 6psi all the way to 6500rpm.

Keep the return line if you have it now. The stock unit for $35 should be all you need

Yes I agree the stock one should be fine. If you are pushing a lot more HP the upgrade is the way to go.

The last Holley fuel pump I bought was made in China. It has only been on my car for about a year and a half. It is already leaking out the bottom of the pump around the bolt. I think if I were to try and replace the pump again, I would probably buy a stocker.

I am currently in the process of replacing my Holley fuel pump that I suspect was installed 21K miles ago back in 1990 when engine was rebuilt. The valve was bad in the fuel pump when I bought my car 2 years ago with only 8,500 miles since the previous owner installed it as I would have to pump the pedal numerous times to get gas back into the carb before starting after sitting for a while. I am now installing a "Masters" fuel pump that I got at Advance Auto for $27 and it says assembled in USA.

i also had to pump it to get it started... thought that is was just leaking out...i put the new pump in sunday took me 5 hours... the hard part was finding a new brass 90* elbow ... i bent the old one taking it off the old pump...2 hours driving to part stores...found it at the last option...the new pump gave me more pedal after 4000 rpm.... all is good in my world now...
thanks for the help ...All
