Default Question about lower ball joint mounting bolts?

The 2 diagonal mounting bolts for the lower ball joints. One has a regular head, the other has a "different" style head. Which one goes where? I must admit I didnt notice on dissassembly. One goes towards the front, the other obviously to the rear. Which is which?

Thanks, I'm ready to put them back together, so an answer would be much appreciated!!

I believe the large head goes toward the rear and acts as a stop.

Thanks Scott, Figured it was a steering stop but wasnt sure which side. A little confusing with the entire steering and suspension laying in the middle of the garage floor!!!

Thanks.

I think Scott may have it backwards.. I just came from the garage after putting my back together and the VB&P instructions I got with it said the larger one to the front.

Well what a quandry!! Actually VBP sent me a set of upper ball joint instructions with the lower ball joints, but it was too late to call them to clarify. Maybe I'll wait til in the morning and give them a call. I really dont have a clue!

Thanks.

Rears 2, Fronts 1.... I cant find a picture or reference on it anywhere. They are in the rear now, I'll change them if it turns out to be wrong.

Thanks!!

Last 'stock' pix I seen showed just rivit heads....nothing I saw with any protrusion to either side....

there IS a snub/rub block on the spindle to rub there.....but when considered with the backside of the lower A arm, and the obvious snub block on the spindles....it's not important....

My bad, so much for my memory. I just checked both of my cars and the fat head is facing forward (assuming the directions provided with parts were correct). Originals were riveted on.

Hmm...I'll have to check again, I could have sworn that mine are facing the rear. If I was wrong about that, I'll happily fess up.
