Just a little more money.
Hi Again, it took my trailing arms off and took then to Corvettes Etc. in Charlotte N.C. ( 704-394-5150 ) They put in the correct spacers, shims, outer and inner bearings, seals parking brake kit in ss, new trailing arm bushings and it cost $697.00.
That was 30,000 miles ago and everything it still in good working condition. Pete..
Just a guess here on what a shop would charge timewise, but a rebuilt trailing arm goes for around $350ish exchange plus say 4-5 hours to R&R at $90ish/hour.
it's not that i have not replace bearing before but i have never done it on a vett
It took every thing I had just to get them off and I have power cutting tools. I'm talking about hours and hours of cutting the rusted on bolts with out damaging anything. After gettting them off I finally sent them off to Van Steal and I'm done with it. There quality is secound to none and I have total faith in what I got back. I know I will never have to deal with this issue again. Good luck friend.
I bought the tools, hunted for USA made bearings (which are getting harder to find), bought the shims, whole 9 yards. They are fine, but if I had it to do again I would just have Van Steel do it. Their work is very good, and price is not bad considering the work involved. it can be a PITA job to do right.
