another eshaust question.....
and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this kit, or the block hugger headers it comes with (like how well do they fit), any advice would be helpful.
Take a close look at the block huggers and then look carefully fully at your engine from below. Imagine where the bh headers are going to run - straight down between cylinders 3-5 and 4-6, close to the block. Notice what else is right there - your engine mounts. Heat from the bh headers melted the material in the motor mounts. I also had spark plug clearance problems. I had to dimple the pipes on a couple of places and fried 3 sets of plug wires in 2 years. The boots cracked from the heat and shorted out to the pipes. That's a bad thing.
I switched to Dynomax full length ceramic headers from Summit. The Dynomax headers are swept back a little and leave more space between the header 1,2 header pipes and the motor mounts.
I also routed the driver's side pipe almost straight back instead of to the right side where the pass side pipe goes. That required a simple modification to the cross member, but that's another post.
If you're going to switch to bh headers, switched to solid motor mounts while you're at it.
