hp upgrade question about B&M blower

hp upgrade question about B&M blower
i saw a b&m fuel injected (superduction) blower for small bloch chevys off of a 1972 350 vette for sale at ebay..how much HP would this add to my stock engine? how hard to install,and how high should i bid on this item?

I honestly don't know what the going rate for a blower is these days. Sorry I can't help you there. I would imagine the blower is good for about 100HP increase (depending on your current setup). Please note that with a blower you should really be running forged internals, and low compression pistons are a must.

I don't know much about blowers. I do remember B&M making a lo-profile Roots style blower that might have been able to fit under our hoods. Maybe thats the type for sale. Hopefully someone else can answer your questions. I think Norval runs a blown big block. He would be a good source of info.

ya that is the one noris..found out it fits right in without a problem..id luv to find out what kind of hp increase i would get from this..if anyone knows a sight where these are sold new, please let me know so i can check it out and see what they say...

FYI B&M recently sold their induction line to Holley, this might make tracking down info a bit difficult. Also, the amount of horsepower increase is directly related to the boost level, you should be able to support a 2-5 psi boost with out too much work (on a stock engine this may add 20-45 hp). When you go to 15psi you really need to start from scratch and build a "bower engine" with the afore mentioned internals and proper cam. If you are looking for the best HP per buck senario a small nitrous kit will give 50 - 100hp when you need it.

Nice seeing you and your 1980 vette at Wendy's Cruise Night. Nice 1980 vette you got there. All your upgrades will be easy with no computer to deal with....took me three years to get where I'm at. Take it one step at a time and soon you'll be there....The 1980 was the vette I was after....however there was none available, or they were in such poor condition, it would have cost me a fortune to refurbish....If I had to do it over again, I would have opt for the 1980 with the GM Performance 385 Fast Burn Engine....Seems like a good engine with plenty of guts for the strip....Did you see the Blown Anglia break loose and almost take the trees down when he pulled out of the parking lot?....I guess he hit a wet spot and was not able to regain control over that little monster. :seeya Cappy

see it ...did u hear it.. :eek: those puppies broke loose and he had some super thicks on the rears...ur vette looks unreal and the pics dont do it justice..nice seeing u and all the hotrods at that cruise night,my first but definently not my last :D
