Default HRE Wheel Order

So here is my situation, I have searched and found many people with the wheel size I am looking for, but most of them have modified their suspension to fit them. My car is a 1976 C3. I was advised by HRE that I can fit 18x9 -7 in the front (approx. 4.5 bs) and 18x10 -26 in the rear (approx. 4.5 bs). I have stock trailing arms and a fiberglass leaf. Will these wheels fit? Thanks to anyone who can help, I'd like to avoid making a $5,000 mistake.

They should fit, If you are worried then tell HRE you want a money back guarantee they will fit since they told you they would

Ugghh!!! You got a few items to consider.

Fronts => Inside clearance you should be okay with another 0.5" inwards compared to stock. The outer lip is what concerns me. I just put on 18x8's with 4" backspacing and while I think/know I would like a little wider front tire/rim. I would run into issues with the outer edge of the tire hitting the fender lip. I have got a VB&P front mono spring conversion currently set at 26.5" from ground to fender lip. yes...I want the look of wider upfront wheel/tire up I would be very cautious about busting off the fender when I hit a bump since front suspension will flex more than rear (in general). Also to consider is your tire rolling diameter as that will be a limiting factor.

Rears => Search for a post by Gordomn. He is running 18x10 with 5.5" backspacing on stock trailing arms. All fits under the outer fender lip but you have to remove the rear sway bar. With your 4.5" backspacing you should be able to keep the rear sway bar but at 10" wide I can almost bet that your wheel lip edge will be sticking outside of the upper fender line lip which in my opinion will not look proper. Again...you need to consider what size tire you want to run also. On a 18x10 with 5.5" backspacing & 275/40/18 the tire will come within 1~2mm of the frame rail kickup just above the trailing arm pocket.

HRE are very sweet wheels indeed. Here is a link to my setup...as far as I know I have one of the largest tire/wheel size combo on the front with relatively stock suspension and since my tire diameter is 26.6"
