Hopefully someone can help me out on this one... I have a 79 L48 with a 350. Inside on the driverside fender well is a orange box towards the front of the fender with one wire running into it. I have no idea what the thing does if anything. THe car did have a factory alarm at one time most of it has since been removed before I took ownership. I have a picture but since i'm not a supporting member I can't post attachments...if you might think what it is let me know and i'll email you the picture.
im fairly sure that is the timer for the interior lights. It controls the time your interior lights stay on after you close your doors. On earlyer models i believe it was meatal, then they swiched to ornge plastic.
thanks that will give me somewhere to start...i'll run the sycmatic down and see if it's one there. I thought thought the timer was behind the glove box on some models too. This is in the engine bay.

You don't have to be a supporting member to post pics. Set up an account at Photobucket or some like site, Upload your pic there and then paste a link to the pic in your post
ok, I got a photobucket account like suggested and put the image up here ...it's the orange box in the upper part of the photo on the driverside engine bay fenderwell...let me know what you all think it might be...
thanks
At first read I thought it might be a diagnostic connection. I am not familiar with the late 70s C3s that way, but my '77 Bonneville had one. Not extacly sure what you could get out of it, maybe tach signal? I don't believe that is what you show though. It looks like part of an old alarm maybe.
yeah... I kinda thought maybe it was a alarm... must be aftermarket because I checked my scmatic and the alarm doesn't run anywhere near that part of the car.
