Default 383 short block help

I am considering buying a 383 short block from Summit. Does any one

Default Blueprint Engines

I just posted a question about this company, as well and was told they'd come up many times before and to do a search. I did a search and found a few things, the following probably being the most interesting...http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...eprint+engines

You may want to do an additional search, as I didn't exactly go through with a fine tooth comb. Looks like a good value, though.

I would look in to what type pistons they use in there short blocks. Summit doesn't tell you much about that, there long blocks use Keith Black hypereutectic pistons that have a problem with breaking rings and piston lands if your ring gap is off and you set your total timing past 30-34 deg, that's a waste of hourse power, here there web page http://kb-silvolite.com/article.php?action=read&A_id=32 and http://kb-silvolite.com/article.php?action=read&A_id=36

170cc ports are small for a 383... you'd be better off with 195, 200, or
210cc port sized heads.

With 64 CC heads go with the flat top pistons. The 170 ports are too small. So is the cam.
