I would stay away from Ecklers. They are not the company they once were. The original type may still be available from the General.
I just installed both flex covers from Ecklers and I am happy with their fit and quality. I had a new toledo pro flex cover that kept cracking and they replaced it and it cracked thats why I went with Ecklers.
I'm using Ecklers bumpers on my 75. The rear is on and worked good. I haven't started the front. I do have some repair to the right front fender. Previous owner must have bumped something.
I REPLACED MY REAR WITH A FLEx FIT I PURCHASED FROM EBAY. NEEDED A FEW MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO FIT WELL. DIDNT NEED ANY PREP IT WAS SMOOTH. OVERALL VERY HAPPY. JUST A NOTE YOU HAVE TO REMOVE 4 METAL BUMPERS AND LIGHT BUCKETS FOR THESE TO FIT. YOU CAN ALSO USE BOLTS WITH WASHERS IF YOUR BOLT STRIPS ARE RUSTED AWAY.
I have a rigid fiberglass bumper cover in front and flex glass cover in back, both from Ecklers. No problem with either in the 4-5 years they've on, and mine are mounted seamless. I don't know for sure, but I'd think any problem with the covers would would show up early with a seamless mount.
I used the flexible fiberglass bumpers from Mid America Motorworks. I put them on a 1977 and they fit really well. Alot better than the original urethane bumpers. http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette?frame=1.1330
jbaron,
Where did you get the flex front for your 74? You said yours fit great...that's my next project and I don't like problems. Was it a good price? Is there anything I should be thinking about before I tackle this project?
Thanks
Mike

Got my True Flex from Wilcox. And the price was pretty good. They have a special discount section on their website for Forum members.Good luck! Jim
