Default 383 Eagle Crank

I just bought a 383 Eagle crank,,, I have a couple STD. 350 4 bolt blocks
How much torque can I fit under a 1977 Vette hood?
I was told that a Edelbrock air gap wont fit.
I guess a Performer is as tall as I can get.
I am planning on using Aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller but I am worried that that intake will choke the motor.
HELP!
I NEED POWER!!!!!!

Under the hood of my 79 I had Performer Rpm, Performer RPM Air Gap and now Victor Jr. !!!

The only thing you need is some "smart" selection of the filter base!

Never had any problem with the mentioned madifolds!

The edelbrock RPM air gap will not work with your stock air cleaner.
Your stock air cleaner is ment to work with your lower rise intake
manifold, The rpm air gap will work with a drop base air cleaner.

no reason you can't be high 400's. Have you looked at the badman setup?? don't know if it will fit, but it looks like it really performs.

There's a lot more at play here than the crank. With the proper selection & assembly of parts, and a 15yd dump truck full of cash, you can have enough hp/tq to scare even the hard core around here. Reasonably you should be looking for somewhere around 400-450 hp/tq, at the crank. These numbers are relatively easy to achieve and won't require a 2nd mortgage. Your stock driveline will handle this kind of street performance w/o major upgrades and will be quite drivable, yet it will still toast ricers. Let us know your crank specs, pistons, rods, etc. & we can help with your component selection. Might as well start saving for the AFR 195's.

"badman setup"
Whats that?

I want to keep the compression under 10 so it will run on crappy 92 octane unleaded.
I have no problem changing the breather out if it means I can use a better intake.
I was looking at some of the Edelbrock power packages also.
Toasting ricers is a big plus!! LOL
I don't want to have to use a stall converter and I am in Texas so having AC is a requirement not a luxury.
I want more bottom end torque that a man should be allowed.

A 9.5 - 10 CR will easily provide what you are looking for.
A breather change is a must, 1" drop will probably be enough.
Edelbrock's packages look good & many people use them with very good results.
Don't be afraid of a higher stall converter, you will, at a minimum, want your tranny rebuilt while the engine is out. Probably a 2000 or 220 converter will work well & won't affect your daily driving.
AC is no problem, unless you want to spin 7000 & it doesn't sound like you want to.
Loads of torque = stroker. Consider a 383 or 396, but prices will go up.

I have a Performer RPM Q-Jet (same height as the Airgap) under my stock '75 hood. I am using a Moroso Low-Profile Racing Aircleaner with a 14x3" filter. I have about 3/4" of clearance at the front of the aircleaner.

All it really takes is "cubic" dollars for high performance and to be blessed with the ability to pick the right combination of parts. You will not always get it right the first time so do your homework before you spend your hard earned dollars.
