I've been having trouble with my steering rack recently. Well, actually its the PS pump and the fact that its old, but the steering box itself isn't far behind the pump. I've heard of C4 guys swapping Jeep steering pumps into their Vettes, with generally good results. Have any of you swapped out or modified your steering pumps and/or racks for other things, aftermarket, salvage or otherwise?

Never heard of using a Jeep steering pump, but the Jeep steering box is becoming a fairly common C2/C3 mod.
Anyone that ran these, were the "brackets" that complicated? I thought about going to the local machine shop and having them cut me something out of 3/8" steel.
I even though about getting some extra long bolts, re-drill the new mounting holes and going straight through the frame and bolting from the other side. My old S10 was that way from the factory if memory serves me correctly.

I did a search and was curious as to what some of you did for your pittman arm. I found an older thread that had a picture of a guy that welded his up......I was curious if anything has changed in the last year or so and someone has purchased something that's a direct fit off the shelf?
I did't see a pitman arm in that kit, but there's one in that picture.
Is Corvette Engineering selling re-splined pittman arms?
