Default 81' Interior Color?

I know someone on this site knows the correct answer.

I have an 81' that was built in BG, approx the 2000th vette. The problem is I looked in my Little Corvette Black Book and my interior color is not listed. I have the original build sheet and it calls out 131 Slate interior trim and 132 Slate leather seats (plate on door frame has same codes), also I can't find these colors in any of the replacement catalogs. The car is all original and I'm trying to keep it as close as I can to original, so I'd like to keep the color scheme the same. I'm also looking at purchasing dye to update all the trim pieces.

Am I looking a something wrong? Was slate colored interior available that year? Any ideas? I'm looking to buy the carpet from Wilcox but the closest thing they have for that year is Silver?

Thanks for any assistance.

It appears that 132=SG= silver gray, not slate

If you go to Al Knoch's web site you can order a Leather seat cover and they actual have the color silver gray listed for an 81. Probably it. As far as #131 ?????

All 1981 Bowling Green Corvettes with the Silver interior used the 1982 color gray interior but the carpet color for the both cars was the same only named different.

If you are looking at the color samples on the web site, they are hard to nail down the exact color due to resolution settings on your computer. In 1981 they called this interior silver but it was actually the exact same color for the 1982 cars with Gray interior.

However, I would be happy to have someone mail you an actual sample of the carpet set tomorrow. You can email us at Joe@Willcoxcorvette.com or call sales tomorrow at 800-588-3883 and ask for Joe. You need a sample of color 8046.

All, thanks a million. Only have my vette seven weeks, still getting up to speed on where to look and find information. I read most of the post every day and hope pretty soon I to can share some knowledge and experiences with others.

You guys are awesome.

Thanks again.
