I've got a leaking caliper on the rear passenger side on my 77. I have soaked the bolts that hold the caliper to the car in WD 40 for 2 days and they aren't budging. I've used a socket with a small cheater bar, impact wrench and an electric impact wrench. The 6 point socket isn't slipping so far but I'm out of ideas on how to get it loose and I'm really afraid at this rate that I'm going to round off the head on the bolt. Any tricks anyone can share would be greatly appreciated.
...heat it cherry red. But first, I've heard recommendations about using PB Blaster. first time I took mine off I had to use a humongous cheater bar.....someone had previously locktite'd them. Should have used a torch, but I didn't.
WD-40 Is NOT a Penetrating Oil. AS said by Carrilljc use PB Blaster or if you like you can order some Kroil Oil which is also a great Penetrating Oil. WD stands for Water Displacement. Then well on comes the heat lol.
I use mine all the time. Never once has it not worked for me. I have a 68 and had the same problem. Also have had alot of other LARGE bolts break loose.

You doubt.
I know!..
Get a propane torch, It will do you good..
I HAVE a propane torch. It's never helped loosen a stuck bolt. If it does, the bolt wasn't very stuck. It's great for soldering large cable ends and copper pipe, though.
Here's an example - I had a thoroughly stuck shock mount. PB Blaster didn't do anything. Propane didn't do anything. Oxy/acetylene had it apart safely in about 10 minutes.
Of course, if your car has been in Texas for most of that 39 years, it probably doesn't have anywhere near as much rust as a Louisiana/Missouri car - like my 77.

If you round off the head with a six-point socket, something is really wrong. I'd try a 1/2" impact socket on an 18" or longer breaker bar. I've even stuck a 2' pipe on a 2' cheater bar before. Busted a socket that way, but never tore up a bolt head.
