Blew up the 350, Will a big block chevy bolt right in ? what motor mounts would i use? What are my options for putting a motor in this thing? Its a 76 C3, i have a streetfighter TCI th350 trans. Any motor i get, i was going to get matching cam and stall converter and slap it together the right way... any help appreciated.
Yes, it will bolt right in. Small Blocks and Big Blocks use the same motor mounts. You'll need to buy the 550lb coils springs for the front, BB pulleys, new exhaust (or if its big enough - you can mod.), and possibly a new hood. To go with a stock you hood, you're pretty much limited to Edelbrock's Torker II (if you go oval) or an original LS-6 intake (if you go rectangular). That's all that I can think of at the top of my head at the moment..

Swapped my SA's L82 out for a BB, and chunked the auto for a manual while I was at it. If I hadn't done these two conversions, I probably wouldn't still own it today.
Whether you do the trans or not, I strongly urge you to put aluminum heads on it. The 75# savings will be in less weight sitting on the nose and relatively high off the ground, both of which items will translate into better handling as well as acceleration.

Those heavy iron heads are very high above the axle centerline.
I would suggest you wait on the spring swap until after the engine and other components are in. I went with aluminum heads, radiator, and dumped un-needed items cluttering up the engine bay. Now with a much larger engine (598) my car sits too high in the front. Things like electric or alum. water pumps, electric fuel pumps, alum. intakes, light weight pulleys, etc. can really add up in weight savings.

I ran a set of 280 pound small block front springs and loved the ride height. I tried 460 and 550 pounders and found the car too low with either of those. The stock springs sat higher.
