Default another chokeing

guy's, decided to build my L48 instead of buying a crate, got edlebrock 60909 heads, 3701 intake, cause my '79 has to pass Ca smog. I am keeping the quadrajet, it has the heat tube for the choke, fits right on the intake but not in the hole for the heads heat crossover, first thought was to switch to electric, I called Edlebrock being unhappy with their head design, talked to a guy named Ron, told me to just cut the heat tube under the intake, hook up the choke as stock. OK, so seems to me you'd be pushing exhaust straight into to carb, what would you guys do?

That's the whole point. It re-burns the exhaust gasses for a cleaner charge of expelled gases.

Why don't you just get an electric choke to replace the tube stuff? Cost is about $30.

Don't know if you're joking or not but this is not a good idea.

Don't cut that tube. You want heat going to the carb/choke, not exhaust gases.

I guess I did forget the sarcastic smiley. I was not 100% there last night, I forgot to add that whoever he went to was a little off on their suggestions.

I would call Ron back and make him aware that he's a moron.

Then I would buy an electric choke.

Ron isn't the only moron handing out crappy advice on this topic.
