I'm getting ready to change all 8 body mounts. I have been spraying liquid wrench on them for the past week. And will continue to do so until the time comes to try to wrench them off. I have a plasma cutter and a cutting torch standing by. Those are last resort. 3 and 4 are pretty much straight forward. 1 and 2 might be trouble. can anyone give me the heads up on these two. Should I cut all 8 lose then lift the body one side at a time or both sides at once.
doing the same myself right now. I am still in the process of trying to get them all loose. Process as been told to me is to loosen all 8 mounts, then remove 4 on one side and lift the side and replace. Then do the other. I have attached the thread below that I started on this and there are a lot of good links in there that other guys have sent me. First thing I will tell you is that if they show even a little bit of rust, go ahead and order new bolts and a couple of cage nuts. You will probably need them. Good luck, I am still working on mine, its a fairly rust free 78. And liquid wrench doesnt even begin to cut it, need to get some of the industrial strength stuff!
#1 is the easiest, since it just uses a bolt and nut.
#2 and #3 are ones to watch out for, you don't want to bust up those inaccessible capture nuts.
#4 might just break off. If it does, you can use a drift and drive the remains of the bolt and capture nut up into the rear compartment. The rivets are soft.

Yea those bolts can be tough. If you can cut them do it, you won't want to use the old bolts anyway.
Lifting one side at a time works good after you have everything disconnected. But what I ran into was the body moving around on the frame and having to measure at four corners of the body and the frame to get it streight. The body will move quit a bit on the big bolt holes both front to back and side to side. There are two holes in the rocker that the factory used to do this, but I replaced my rockers and was not sure that was going to work for me.
