Default ps pump differences

does anyone know what the differences are between the ps pump on a 72 vs 75? gm has different part numbers.

It could possibly be the hose connections. Early style pumps used flare fittings and hoses. Later model use "O" ring fittings and hoses. There are adaptors but not widely sold. The steering gears are similar in connections. One has to match the other........

Difference is that a '72 has a bolted on pulley with a keyway. '75 has a pressed on pulley.

As for the line fittings, '75 has flare fittings just like '72.

SteveG75 is correct about the pulley shaft difference.
The hose was the same from 1963-1979. In 1980 GM went to a different pressure hose with a different flared end. This remained the same from 1980-1982.

I just put my ps pump back in and was going to replace it. I saw all the options and wondered the same thing since there are different numbers for the years, but they looked the same to me. I just decided to strip and paint mine
