Default Fuel system for a ZZ383

After running BSP in SCCA solo for 10 years in my C-3 I'm ready for a change and because I couldn't find a buyer for my car maybe I need a bigger motor!!!
I'm looking at a ZZ383 with 449 ft lbs torque and 425 hp. I'm assuming my beloved Quadrajet won't be enough carb. Also will a mechanical fuel pump stay up with it and will my stock fuel lines be able to deliver all that gas?

I just put a ZZ383 in mine and so far the stock fuel lines seem to be up to the task. I'm not sure what the gallons per hour rate needs to be but I would venture a guess that over 80 gallons per hour is sufficient.

What year car did you put the engine in. I believe a 72 has 5/16 dia lines. How do you like the engine?

I used the zz383 shortblock for my engine build. Fuel delivery is a Holley Pump 80gpm, made up an 8an fuel line to a demon 750 Carb.
the setup Looks similar to 8car's above, except I put a inline filter AN- type between pump and carb. Those are great pics , its the way to do it IMO, almost Eliminates the possibilities of Murhy's law fuel Leaks .

The Quadrajet is plenty of carb and a mechanical fuel pump is capable of a lot more than you need. Carter, Holley, & Barry Grant all sell a pump rated at 170+ gph & it doesnt need a regulator.

it all fits, use energy suspension poly Motor mounts.
That engine is a real nice power upgrade for your car. Many are using it in their Camaros as well.

Edit : If your interested, Nows the time to research new elec. fan cooling system , higher amp alternator, and starter motor.

Sounds like an easy wwap. It will put my car into Street Mod 2 in SCCA AutoX. I have dual fan cooling system that works great, might change to an aluminum radiator to save weight. I also have the smaller new style Delco starter. There isn't much that hasn't been done to this car. Going from 300 ftlbs to 450 ftlbs ought to be fun.

It is in a '69. I'm still in the break in period but so far I really like it.
