Default Mech. To Elec. tach

Can anyone tell me the location of 12v, ground, and tach. location on the three prongs. This is a 1976 Tach I picked up for my 74. I searched archives but got conflicting answers. Thanks

You're in luck - i just changed out the guts in my 76 tacho with the guts out of an autometer tach and had thrown everything in the trash but forgot to put the trash out this morning and was able to find the old piece which i labelled before removing it from the wiring harness.

Looking at your pic, the top left is positive, top right is ground and the one on the bottom under the positive is the feed from the distributor.

If you are running a regular dizzy instead of an HEI dizzy, then just run the feed from the negative on the coil to the bottom terminal.

Hope this helps.
Brett.

Anytime. God knows I have been helped out more than once or twice - it's nice to pay it back, too.
