I nned to replace the fuel sendin unit is a 71 car. BAsed on test suggested to run by others on this forum. I have found the windings on the resistor to be broken.
This part seems like something that is pretty straight forward in build and design.
But I have seen these advertised for a wide range of prices all the way up to factory NOS units for approx. 110.00
I do not see me buying the NOS , but is there any feed back on which supplier has the best for the money?
I paid over $100 for mine, then found a writeup from one of the guys in here. He bought a cheap one from JC Whitney and swapped the resistor over to his old unit.
damn things are pricy

I agree with the PRICY part.
I hate to spend that much $$$$$ on something that no body can see.
David,
I agree with sixfooter about buying a cheap sending unit from a parts store and swapping the resister to your unit. I've heard that this is pretty straight forward to do. You need to make sure its the right resistance, I think its 90 ohms.
Happy New Year!!!
