Default Help with A-Arm Installation

I removed my A-arms and had a shop install new bushings. Easy to figure which the right and left hand side for lower arms but how can I tell which is the left and right side for the upper arms?

$20.00 per A-Arm or $80.00 for all four. I supplied the bushings.

Maybe I just didn't look close enough but I didn't not notice one side being shorter. I'll check tomorrow. Thanks I really appreciate the information.

Neither upper or lower a-arms are an equilateral triangle. The "long" forward legs go to the front.

I don't mean to threadjack, but if you wanted to do those bushings yourself in the future, I just did mine and it wasn't that hard at all.

I put the bushings and the rods in the deep freeze overnight.

Pulled one set of bushings with the rod out at a time.

Light coat of white lithium grease and a socket, and smacked them right in! No damage to the arms, after you have the first one in, flip it over, realign the socket to the other bushing, smack that one down and your set!!

Out of a precaution of bending the a arm I did cut a length of pipe and put it in between the two a arm ends. Very easy job to do yourself, I was very nervous. I was working with brand new bushings, and freshly powder coated arms! Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Not a bad price considering the amount of time you'd have spent doing them yourself.

The shop I checked with wanted $15 per bushing. For that price I went ahead and bought a Harbor Frieght press and did it myself.

It was the 12 ton press in the link below. The job was not too difficult but I would recruit a friend for the afternoon. You will also need to cut some pipe to place between the control arm slots/spaces so you don't bend or crush them when using the press.

Depending on your patience, it may be better if you pay to have a shop install the bushings. There is some work involved that may leave you saying, "I should have paid to have these installed.".
It was worth it to me since I am going to rebuild my rear end. It's a good tool to have around if you work on cars.
