Has anyone on this forum purchased an engine from Doug Herbert's shop in Charlotte? Members with knowledge of his products would be a help. My main interest lies with his big block 555 custom build. The name alone carries a high degree of respect in NHRA but how good are the street motors they build in his shop. Tech sheets look impressive but first hand experience is worth a lot more. Thanks in advance for info or input.

If it`s a co incidence or not, but there was a "Drag News" paper, the first monthly drag paper long before National Dragster and put out by Doris Herbert . Possible family connection with the name. The first paper to officially publish speed and ET records for all drag classes.
