My rear is leaking at the rear cover so I will have to pull it off to fix it. I figure I might as well replace the front and side seals at the same time.
Do the side yolk seals come off easily or do I have to remove pressed on bearings.
There is no noise in the rear, should I replace the bearings too?
There are snap rings that hold the yokes in. You need to pull off the back cover and remove the C clips from inside the diff. Be careful you might find the ends of the yokes mushroomed over. Then you are looking for a rebuild possibly.
I am in the process of doing the same right now. I had to order new seals, the only local ones were crap. I dont want to do this twice. I am also ordering new yokes as mine were out of tolerance according to Gary's advice. Follow this thread for more if you want....
