I just completed welding in a repair patch on my driver & passenger side rocker channels at the #2 body mount due to rust issues. I need to drill a new hole for the body mount now. Can anyone provide the correct measurements for locating the holes?
That information can be found in the AIM or the service manual.
It isn't clear whether you are trying to locate the hole inside the kick panel on the birdcage; or locate the hole through the frame to allow the bolt to be installed at Number 2 position. Number 2 position has a nut enclosed in a cage which is welded into position on the frame rail.
From your name I take it you're talking about a 73?
Search "frame dimension" in archives, if no-one responds. Lots of diagrams there but make sure you verify correct year.

I made a repair on the birdcage rocker channels. I found the dimension from the number three mount to number 2 now I need to know what diameter the hole I need to drill. By the way thanks for the info.
Impossible to measure mine right now, but I would think that since the mount hardware is interchangeable between no. 2 and 3, my logic would be that they are both the same diameter.
I measured mine on the rocker channels and found them to be 1 5/32" dia
Thanks for the info. I want to say thanks to all the members of this forum. All of you have been an exceptional source of information and learning through out the years.
