Default 82 valve cover bolts?

My 82 has studs for the valve cover bolts. Did they come from the factory that way?

I have never seen that stock so I would guess someone else did that.

Wasn't it still just a bolt though? I think he has studs sticking up out of the heads where the valve cover bolts go.

What I have is studs in the heads that the valve cover goes over, then 7/16 polly lock nuts tightens the cover down. Someone told me this was to use a thicker gasket.

My 82 has bolts too, not studs. Mine is all stock and I think they were all done with bolts from the factory. Hope this helps.

That would probably be why someone did that. I can see it could be handy in many ways, but it wasn't ever stock as far as I know.

Probably means you have one of those rare 400hp 82's.
