Ive got a couple of tiny holes in my window frame, which iam going to put a spot weld into, I have a arc 50 - 100 amp welder, what sort of amps should I be using on the window frame metal??, dont want to give it too much heat and blow holes into it! lol
The metal is very thin, 18 ga I think, so you need as smalla rod as you can get and as low as you can go on the current.
Practice on some scrap before you start. The way to do that repair is to cut it out into good metal, wirewheel the entire area, make a patch to replace the metal and weld that in.
Attempting to spot weld the hule WILL make a bigger hole, I know it would if I was the one with the stinger anyways
Post a couple pics if ya can
If these tiny holes are cropped together. Your best fix would be to cut the metal out. You can't see what is underneith but you will find out quickly once you strike an acr.
