Default Suspension Advise

I am looking to replace all of the ball joints and bushings in my 76. I read most of the posts on the forum and every one has a different opinion as to which brand to buy? VBP, vansteel, volvette? I was looking at Zips deluxe front end kit su - 502 with rubber bushings. I was going to go with the poly but some peolpe say its a harder ride? Did anyone use the zips front end kit? Who has the best kit as far as ball joints , because I see there was an issue with some not lasting long. Thanks for you help! I will be upgrading to 400hp small block down the road ,but 90 % street driven and 10% track.

Prothane polyurathane bushing kit, i think i ordered mine through ecklers or someone, get the trailing arm poly bushings form VBP, and pop for the Moogs from Rockauto.com, they are the best.

If you are looking for a total suspension upgrade i would go for a kit from VBP with the monospring (360lb) and some Bilstiens. if not, see above. good luck

A lot depends on your personal preference. Poly is a rather sticky plastic, which means that it will sort of bind when a rotational movement is necessary (like in the A-arms), thus creating that squeeking sound. Poly is harder and creates less suspension problems in those area's that need it, but it stiffens the suspension.

I would not use these bushings on the TA's.

Poly won't squeak if it's properly greased. It only binds when an angular motion is applied with the rotational force (which is why it's not that good for the T/A bushings).

Due to the aforementioned rotational/binding issues, poly is generally not considered to be a good choice for the T/A bushings on a street car (I used steel spherical bearings because I can't stand the decay of rubber).

From a lot of posts here (and some experiences of my own), Prothane has a very bad rap for their C3 bushings. If you're going with poly, use Energy Suspension or VB&P bushings.

Batman-
I am getting mixed views on the t/a bushing question. I like the idea of the spherical bushing, Tell me more and where did you get them.
thanks

Go with Moog Ball joints...the thread on VBP ball joints did not answer questions...so anybody's guess on Dana,etc..

Suggest using rubber bushings for TA's/A-Arms...poly ok elsewhere..
