Getting oil pump pickup off old pump?
Hi guys,
Having some issues getting the old oil pump pickup off the old pump. Trying to reuse it and save a trekking to the chevy dealer.
What tools and other implements of destruction have you guys used? That thing is in there tight!

Yep....it is tight. It will seperate though. I think I used a round punch / hammer to partially collapse the tube that goes into the pump. Then you will have to "repair" and tack weld onto the new oil pump. Be sure you check the angle ... I just eyeballed mine and had to re-do after I realized it was against the oil pan.
