I have a '72 and after taking her out for a quick ride I noticed a small amount of oil had pooled around the area of the casting block numbers, just below the oil pressure sensor connection. Can't tell exactly where it's originating, but I assume it's the connection. What do you think? If so, what is the solution. I did check the connection and it was very tight. Thanks for any/all help.

I'm guessing you still have the mechanical oil pressure gauge and the hard line going from the sender into the cabin.
You could be lucky and it may just be a valve cover gasket, but I would also inspect that oil tube for cracks and leaks. Best to spray everything down with cleaner, get it all clean, and start the car. Try to catch the path the oil takes.
It could be oil leaking from one of the intake bolts. I found oil pooling by two of my intake bolts, so I pulled them out, put sealant on the threads, and re-torqued them. Presto! No more oil.
If you find the oil is leaking out of the fitting [cap nut to fitting], you can try tightening...but not too much. There is a round-ish ferrule which fits on the plastic line under the nut. The more you tighten, the more the ferrule squeezes the tube...and the tubing is pretty brittle, if it is original. If the leak is out the back of the cap nut [where the tube goes into the cap], the tubing is likely bad. If so, you can remove the nut/tubing, cut the tubing a bit behind the ferrule and install a new ferrule--if you can find one at a hardware store. OR you can replace the whole tubing system. Kit are available from most C3 parts vendors (less than $20). To do this, you have to remove the whole gauge console. If you do this, DO NOT remove the old tube before your repair. Use the oil tubing as a "fische" to get the new one installed. Use about a 1/2 inch length of duct tape to tie the two together in the engine bay; then carefully pull the old tube out in the cockpit until the new one is in. Good luck in finding the cause and fixing it. (It still could be a valve cover leak.)
I should clarify that the piece of duct tape is the full witdth of the tape [2+ inches, or so] with 1/2" cut off of roll. Wrap tubing so the long direction is along the tube and rolled around about one+ revolution.
