Cable to Trans from Column
Hey what is the cable that goes from right where the steering column comes through the firewall to the front right side of the transmission on the turbo 400. Mine is disconected at the trans and is seized up and will not move. The connection on the trans moves when the shifer inside the car is moved

Sounds like the transmission interlock cable, it locks the steering wheel and transmission when you remove the key. PG.

This paper has all you ever wanted to know about the General Motors steering column/transmission shift interlock systems. It was used on the C3 Corvette from 1969 through 1976.
