ok bad news. I had to put it back in the car. My daily driver broke down again(the vette is more relyable...go figure), and I needed a car tomarrow. So I started to reassemble it at 4:30...I was in a rush so I didn't get any pictures.
No problem-o Daniel. :D Go figure. I have the same problem at times - though my daily driver is also a corvette. And there was one day 2 weeks ago when Greg's new truck went in for a failed wheel sensor - so the ONLY car of the 3 vettes and truck running was my 1970!
Owned my 79 for 6 seasons, Have done some mods to it and rebuilt a few things. My clock has never
worked. Last week I decided to try and get it to work along with my oil pressure gauge. Took out
cluster and took out clock. Then used needle nose pliers and took off the back of clock after taking off hands
Took my "Old Faithful" WD40 and soaked it down good. Shook off excess and reinstalled, it purrs like
a kitten. Had to make a couple adjustments for speed but it's keeping perfect time now. Still need to
get oli gauge to work tho. Sitting in car I can hear the clock ticking, better than quartz, huh? Steve
yes the tick-toc of the clock defanitly sounds more nostalgic then a silent quarts. Nothing aginst quarts, but I just want to get the factory one working...so I can be one of the few to do it successfully.
I'm trying to get my clock to work too. Took the thing apart, cleaned it with wd40 and got all the hands to moving with the ****. Hooked it to my jeep's
battery and nothing. Back to the drawing board.
