76 door window
Hello again!....My '76 drivers door window will only roll up 90% with door closed..(about a 2" gap).I have to either push out on window to get it to go or open door to get it to roll up all the way..I have tried all adjustments as suggested by AIM and Haynes books...I even measured the drivers door window rolled up and compared to passenger door window...(which works OK)..Any suggestions or helpful links appreciated as always....Happy New Year!..

Thanks for the quick info..The door window will roll all the way up when open..When you are talking of the door panel is that the bottom access panel in door?.....Thanks,Pete

he was probably referring to interior panel with the vinyl and carpet on it. the access door for the window electric motor is behind it at the bottom. you also need to check to make sure the spring on the regulator assembly isnt broken or the center rivet that holds the center of the spring hasnt split apart and broke. i just finished overhauling my drivers side door regulator assembly with all new rollers and cleaned and regreased all the slide tracks. after all kinds of adjustments my window will roll up with the door open, but if you close it, the window rolls up all but about 1/8". i just figure the motor or spring is weak. my gear assembly looks good. good luck
