Default question on rear suspension

the other day I was playing around and when I would hold the brake and power up the engine (like I was going to power brake) and the right rear of the car dropped a good 3-4 inches. is this normal? if not and I need to replace the spring, should I go with the composite? maybe I am just being stupid, but the rear really felt like it was going to hit the ground. I checked all the bushings, and the spring pack and found nothing broken. is there a way to check for sure or something else that I may be missing. thanks

Dwayne

It's normal. Try putting it in reverse, and the rear should rise.

How is the car sitting right now? Is it level and are the half shafts horizontal or do they angle up or down? You want them even with the horizon.

the car sits normal and level on a "know level" surface. The shafts are pretty close to level with the horizon. the angle up to the center just a small amount when on a level surface. would a 360 comp spring help a bit or just make the ride suck?

These cars are known to 'squat' before they take off...it's kind of a signature thing.

So long as everything is in good working order, and nothing actually hit the ground, it's probably just normal squat you felt.
