went with 2.5" wheel adapters all the way around and in the front they are fine. In the back I am hitting the parking brake bracket. I have stock C5 thinspokes 2000-2004 with kumho 275/40 R18 in the back and the wheels won't clear. The tires aren't touching... it's the lip of the rim that is touching the parking brake bracket. I know some of you other guys have used the 2.5" adapters ... so how did you deal with this problem???? any help would be great!
This is a simple fix. I haven't needed to do it as I went with offset T/A's, but do the following: Put your stock wheels back on and drive to a welding shop, I assume you do not weld. Cut the E-brake bracket off with a cutoff wheel and move it to the top of the T/A, and weld it on. You want to grind the welds to remove the bracket, so it can be re-used on top of the T/A. Problem solved.
well crap... now I'm just jumping around cursing.... I guess I'll cut'em and then drive up to where I can get them welded on.... not like the parking brake works too well on these cars anyways... oh well! Thanks for the help guys...
does anyone have any pics of these parking brake brackets relocated? I'm getting ready to grind off the welds and would just like to see how others have been relocated. Still bummed about this, I was so wanting to get the new wheels and tires on this weekend.
Sully,
I didn't know what to expect. To me 'BAD BAD NEWS' only involves the words TELEPHONE POLE or GASOLENE AND FIRE.
Hope you get your bracket moved without too much hassle.
Regards,
Alan

Here is a pic of mine. You also will have to shorten (cut and splice) the cable because the new route is shorter.
