TH400/Holley Compatability Question

Default TH400/Holley Compatability Question
Just purchased a Holley Model 4160 Carburetor and plan on using on a 1969 350 cu engine mated to stock TH400 transmission.
The instructions say that this carb cannot be used with an OVERDRIVE type trans, so the question is, is a TH400 an overdrive type trans ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A TH400 does not have overdrive, it's just a 3 speed. Something like a 700R4 would be an example of an overdrive trans.

What was wrong with the stock Q-jet?

This is a non original engine that was installed while the original 427/400 awaits rebuild. Thank you again
