Default speed density parts list

i am looking to get a parts list of everything i need to change a 88 f-body tpi to speed density. i have read about blocking off the ninth injector and about the computer, but i was wondering if the computer had to come out of a v8 car or if it just has to be a 7727 or 7730?
tahnks in advance

All 7727/7730 computers are basically the same on the inside (might be some small changes model year-to-model year, but they're interchangeable). You just need a V8 memcal.

Do you have a car already set up with mass-air or do you have a mass-air TPI unit and want to get all the parts to install it as speed-density? If you already have a car with mass-air then you have to have a new harness and a 7730 ECM and PROM, unhook the 9th injector, add a MAP sensor. If you just have a mass-air TPI then you need a speed density harness, 7730 ECM and PROM, add a MAP sensor, don't use or block off the 9th injector (kits available at Street and Performance-can also use a left runner from a 90-92 and plug the fuel rail). Need a little more info to give a better answer. I have 2 TPI conversions running myself, done several more, and am very fond of them.

What I Have Is A 88 Trans Am L98 To Installin My 77 Corvette And I Want To Change It To Speed Density Because That Seems To Be The Recomendation, So I Am Looking To Find Out Everything I Need To Do This Including Computer. I Have Seen Computers For 2.8 And 3.1 That Are 7727 {weatherpack} So I Need To Know If Theese Work, Also What Other Parts Are Needed.

You need:

A 1990 - 1992 TPI Speed Density Harness

1227730 ECM (with stock 5.7 Chip Installed)

Custom Adapter (This is why you need the ECM w/ the 5.7 Chip the adapter works in conjunction with stock chip and bypasses certain features like vats, egr etc)

Map Sensor and bracket if you choose to drill and tap your plenum

9th injector block off accessories

Providing you already have the normal stuff (sensors, lines, filter etc) to install your TPI, this is pretty much what you need to convert to Speed density.

7727 ECM = 7730 in a weatherproof case. If I'm remembering my pinouts and boards correctly, any of them can handle either SD or MAF with the proper wiring and sensors.

I agree with 82CorvetteDude except I would add that you can have a custom PROM made that bypases VATS and removes features you don't want like EGR and canister purge (although I would leave canister purge and the non-vented fuel system). You can get them from Street and Performance, Howell, Fuel Injection Specialties, Painless, and other places. Street and performance can reburn a V8 PROM if you buy an ECM that has one in it.

There are several that have done this swap although it is losing popularity to LSx swaps-not that I blame them. IMHO GM never made a cooler looking intake than the TPI. Those runners just look neat. If you do a search for my username and "TPI swap" you should find my C3 installation guide. DRJay also wrote an installation guide for C3. Mrvette has extensive experience with TPI-just don't ask him to vouch for a 700R4

Well, hopefully very shortly here, I can be selling my big port Edel base, runners, and plenum for my TPI, as I"m modding up a LT1 intake to fit in place of it all, much simpler installation....it's nearly ready to fit up now, so when it's done, the stuff will be available....

for a C3 the 700 is a lousey fit, not only most C3s came with stiffer gears than 308, anything wilder makes first gear in a 700 nearly useless, the 200 4r is a much cleaner install....
