Hey Rick,
Haven't tackled it yet, bu I've got the same problem, the **** won't turn to reset the trip, but my odometer also does not turn. Is your odometer working? I'm just wondering if there is a common gear or link between the two that may be broken.

I can't remember for sure, but I have to push up on mine and then turn. I can also turn either direction but it seems to go easier if I turn the numbers backwards.
Is it your **** not turning or **** turns but the numbers not turning?
