I'm looking for some help from the experts on paint mixing.
I would like to paint the underbody and engine bay of my car with an enamel that has been flattened somewhat. I'm not looking to go with a semi-gloss, but just take some of the shime out.
According to our local Dupont rep, his products cannot be flattened. Is this so, or do any of you know a trick.
I'm not familiar with Dupont, but I've used PPG Flattening Agents on Z28 wheels, black SS tail panels, etc, any low gloss surface because you can customize the gloss to your preference. They have DX265 which will work with 1k paint like acrylic enamel or lacquer that you want to use. The more flattener you add the more gloss you remove so you need to use a test panel until you get the right mix and then duplicate it over and over until you are done. They also have a flattener for 2k paint DX685.
Flattner can be added to any brand paint, doesn't matter which brand paint or which brand flattener is used. Just mix a small amout and test the finish your after.

Thanks for the input. I spoke with th PPG rep on Saturday. He will sell me a quart of the flattening agent to let me experiment. I was hoping to have them flatten the paint for me to avoid remixing over and over but they won't do it.

Follow the mixing instruction on the flattner, oz per liter, you'll be fine. You also could have ask PPG to add extra dryer to your paint, that will also remove some of the shine.

Thanks, I'm going to visit the PPG rep again tomorrow to see if he can help mix the paint. The engine bay should be straight forward as it is a semi-gloss, but with the underbody, I was looking to remove about 20% of the shine to help hide some of the imperfections in the surface.
