Have any of you ever seen Miss Mako? She is some woman with a Mako Shark copy...just wondering...apparenty she just drives agound the country going to car shows with this copy Mako Shark.
"Sorta" is stretching it...I mean, not only were the side pipes fake, it didn't even had any dual exhaust. I spent too much time trying to figure out what is even was...at one of the shows I was at, she was charging people to take pictures in the car...I wasn't impressed.
They use the car to raise money ............
Sandy and Ben Labarees' 'Corvettes Conquer Cancer Tour' make this
car available for 'showing' for fundraisers and charity events.
If your club or organization would like this unique
corvette, 'Miss Mako', to help raise more funds for your charity ......
Have a look at.... http://www.missmako.com

Re: Miss Mako (mthom)
Yep, saw it at the pathetic excuse for a Corvette show -- the Rt. 66 show in Chandler, AZ.
The car was nice, but yes a copy. Very nice paint and chrome and attention to detail.
And Miss Mako herself was a very nice person that loved to talk about her car and talk with other Vette owners.
I can't complain about her or the car, they are what they are.
Or do you just not read threads that are started by MNJack ?
Or maybe you did see it, but forgot about it, and were subliminally reminded of Miss Mako?
Anyway..... check out my recent thread... I have the photo which was taken at the parade at Carlisle 2001, and a picture of my new model which I purchased last weekend at KB Toys!!! :) MJ
Is that the car? I saw your thread...is that the same car I have been seeing at shows? Your thread was the one that got me thinking about it.
I didn't see anything about any of the money going to charity when she opened up shop at the shows I was at. I would think if someone was going to make a copy, it would be a little more realistic and functional.
My sig has a picture of my two maco sharks. I am currently working on both. I plan on driving the one in the lower photo to Carlisle next year. Hey, I personally like the Mako IIs better than the first one, but with all customs, it is a matter of taste.
Just my two cents worth.
Yep, I am pretty sure that's the one, with the old lady, aka "Miss Mako" in the driver's seat (must be Mr Mako in the passs seat?). I just snapped the pic as they drove by. I did not see her or the car on the showfield at Carlisle so I can't say for sure what her gig was..... but I do seem to recall she got some very favorable publicity about raising money for charity. MJ
We just had our annual Corvette show here in New Orleans, and she was there...I didn't see anything in the financial report of any type of money brought in from her appearance...I didn't know her car was about charity, but according to her website, it is.
(I did review the financial statement from our show when I got home, and I was mistaken, she did make a donation at our show to Cystic Fibrosis...just wanted to clear that up)
I met and chatted with her at Carlisle this year. Nice women and car. Her gig seemed to be to take a pic with her and her car for 10 bucks  . I passed, and yes Mark you are the weakest link, good bye :jester
I saw her and the car at Carlisle. Nice car (sorta) but if you want a Mako copy then make it a real copy.
She dresses like she is 18 but if you add another 40 to that you probably get her real age.
Gary
Wish I WAS 18 + 40 again! You're gonna get old, too...if you're LUCKY and don't experience the alternative. Post again when YOU turn 58 and we'll chat about it :)
