I used the microspheres mixed in rustoleum paint on the bare metal, then reflectix, then carpet pad and carpet. Works great! Some don't like the microspheres - you can find more by searching on 'microspheres'....

I got mine from Lowes.3 rolls for entire interior,+ 2 rolls of Aluminum duct tape for seams.Total about $58.00

I used reflectix on my car as well. Works great and is cheap. One word of caution - I ran the reflectix over the transmission tunnel between the seats. When I place the center console back on, the underside of the power window switches touched the reflectix. That stuff conducts electricity and caused a blown fuse. Just take care and add some electrical insullation where needed.
