Default Holley Carb Problems

Hey guys I have a Holley 4160 that I just installed and when I start the car when its cold out it doesn't idle high enough. I know that the choke cable is closing the choke plate. When I start it I usually fully depress the gas pedal 2 or 3 times. pull the choke cable. And turn the key. Am I doing something wrong?

Can anyone give me some advice as to where to buy a better choke cable then the generic ones they sell at autozone it binds from time to time,

I haven't had a Holley or really tinkered with one in YEARS ... I had the same problem with my Qjet. I adjusted the thermostatic coil. All is good now.

Try a marine store like West Marine, They sell a variety of choke cables for marine engines.

You should adjust the fast idle screw that should act against the choke cam.

The choke cable shouldn't be a factor if it operates the choke linkage.

Pull the choke cable while the gas pedal is depressed, then the choke cam will stop on the fast idle screw when you release the gas pedal.
