Rear End # ACW624E2
I have a 70 vette with a 3:70 rear end the #s don't seem to match the codes I have for 1970.Could the C maybe be a O I think the rear end might have been replaced. Any ideas on what year this is?

In my book the 70 used a 3 digit ID code that all began with the letter C. None match the order yours are in.
71 has an AC code 4:11 and an AW 3:08.
Maybe somebody has a little more detail out there

"Corvette by the Numbers" says:
AC= 4:11 ratio (71' to 74')
W= Warren MI assembly plant.
But then the next 3 numbers are suppose to be the day of manufacture followed by the shift and the last letter is for posi or not. E=Eaton Posi.
Maybe double check the code.
