I bought the Eastwood gun a while back and it broke on me. They sent me a new replacement gun - again, this one was defective. I've sent both of them back and will fully be refunded...except for the initial shipping cost I paid, which really sucks. Anyways, the only other gun which seems to be better than the cheapos in the caswell plating high output gun for $230. Has anyone bought this gun from Caswell before? What is the quality like? Any bad experiences with them...
Stinger,
I believe I read a post just recently in which someone mentioned a Craftsman (Sears) gun. Worth checking into it it actually exists?
Regards,
Alan

I've seen that one, I don't like the design of it...looks pretty cheap from just looking at the pictures.
The gun and pedal are the same as the $100 Harbor Freight gun. Stick with the Eastwood - mine works perfectly, and the design is better than my old HF gun (which served me well for six years).
The eastwood gun worked good, but it broke on me after about a month - I never dropped it once. The area where the handle attaches to the static tube had snapped - stupid design in my opinion. They sent me a new one and then I found out that when I depressed the switch on the gun, I had to hold the wire in a specific position for the LED light to go on and activate - and sometimes that didn't even work. I sent them both back and they are sending me a cheque in the mail...I don't need this aggravation. I think I am going to go all out and buy myself the expensive caswell gun - I went on caswell's forum and heard good things about it.
Whow a adjustable high voltage output. Got a earlier version with out this option. Dammm!!
Works great but it's hard to get good coverage in the recessed areas!
Stinger - I have 3 from HF (one for reds, one for blacks and one for grays) and had great success. They look just like the Caswell but don't have the adjustible voltage.
I have considered upgrading to something more professional but it is hard to beat the $49 cost of tthe HF (on sale).
Just ordered the gun from the Caswell Canada site, I'll keep you posted on how it works. They charged me taxes for Ontario when I live all the way in Alberta...I didn't notice it until I reread the bill. I'll try and give them a call.
