Default Headers not fitting with Jeep box

CRAP!!! I have tried every which way to make the headers, 1 3/4 Super Comps fit with the Jeep box. I clamped it in after lining it all up and no way are the headers going in there. I may just go back and rebuild the old steering box until something else comes out. I'll try a few more things but it does not look good at this point. Not to happy right now.

That’s a bummer…I was worried about this with my big block so I decided to have Gary rebuild my stock manual box. Plus the high speed sensitivity problem.

Yeah, my hooker sidepipes didn't fit either.
Took a big hammer, impact socket wrapped in shop towel and dented the header tubes to clear. I might have pics of the dents needed at home. My headers were previously ceramic coated by jethott and the coating was fine after it took its beating.

I can't even get the headersin there to get them to bolt up to the head. I may just jack the motor up slightly to see if I can get the header in. If I can hopefully it will sit OK with the header to box clearance.

Right, i had to dent the headers just to get them to fit up to the block & heads.
I had to increase the manufacturer dent on the 2nd tube to clear, and then i beleive i had to add a dent to one of the other tubes.
All this just to get the headers up to the block. Then dent them a tad bit more to get them to bolt down and clearance everything.

I have minimal clearance b/c i'm running poly mounts and the engine doesn't torque over that much.
I'll try to remember to look for pics tonight when i get home.

Here's the pipe tuning I had to do to get my Stahl Big Block Side pipe headers to clear the jeep box. I run solid motor mounts so these dents are pretty minimal. I did find out this past summer on power tour that I will need to add a power steering cooler for the long trips. With the hydraboost in the mix things just get a little to hot under the hood for the power steering fluid.

Default I feel your pain

Just bought me a set of rams horns for my 383 short block. I'm port matching them to my afr heads and hoping I have enough clearance.

I tried every which way. Without beating the headers to death it is not going to fit. I'll just have to go back to the stock box. I'll rebuild the stocker with a Borgeson joint and just drive it that way. I guess I'll have to sell the Jeep box and the pitman arm I bought for it.

There will be plenty of room with the rams horn manifold.

These are the best i could dig up.
And mine is a big block. Your should fit with similar denting of the tubes.
